![]() Borderlands 2 really pushes the witty writing and crude humor that came out in much of the first game's DLC. The story is a bit cliche, I know, but it serves an easy to understand back drop for the excellent writing. And before you know it, you're wrapped up in a quest to stop Jack from destroying the entire world. Sadly, Handsome Jack, the game's villain, has other plans. You play as a vault hunter, essentially a bad ass treasure hunter whose on Pandora to look for vaults. With Borderlands 2, the studio's really upped their game, weaving together all the characters and jumbled plot points of the first game into a story that makes sense. They had moments where it came together, sure, but overall it felt flat and forgettable. ![]() The story of the original Borderlands was clearly shoe-horned in around the gameplay. A few minor complaints aside, developer Gearbox has succeeded in making the sequel an improvement over the first in every way. The original hooked me with its great gun play, constant stream of loot, and generally hilarious writing. But now it's time with Gearbox's awesome shooter, Borderlands 2. If you loved the first, or have ever wanted to check out this loot-heavy shooter franchise, then now is definitely the time. ![]()
